EXHAUST CARD - THESSALONIKI
Except for the predetermined Technical Controls, it has been legitimately enacted an additional control for the gas emissions of every vehicle.
The attestation of the exhaust fumes control is completed by the publication of the EXHAUST CARD or with the TECHNICAL INSPECTION REPORT KTEO in which the exhaust fumes control is included.
In most vehicle categories this control and the publication of the Exhaust Control Card is due to happen more frequently than the periodic Technical Control. Hence, in the time span between two tactical Technical Controls KTEO exhaust fumes controls are inserted and also the renewal of the Exhaust Control Card (article 7 par. 1 of the L. 3897/2010).
EXHAUST CARD HOW OFTEN
The frequency of the control and the publication of the Exhaust Card depends on the vehicle type. Specifically:
The Private Passenger Vehicles, light training vehicles and ambulances (up to 3,5 t):
The exhaust card isvalid for 1 yearand the publication of a new one happens between the two Technical Controls KTEO, that is 1 year after the last Technical Control KTEO.
The Commercial Passenger Vehicles and the heavy vehicles (more than 3,5 t):
The exhaust card is valid for 6 monthsand the publication of a new one happens between the two Technical Controls KTEO, that is 6 months after the last Technical Control KTEO.
Motorbikes do not have the obligation to issue an exhaust card.
EXHAUST CARD FINE
There is a fine and is imposed by the traffic police when the vehicle goes around on road without a valid Exhaust Card. For the Exhaust Card the fine is imposed and it ranges from 35€ up to 200€, depending on the fumes that will be emitted during the control. Additionally, thecurrent valid Exhaust Card may be canceledin the case which the measurements do not correspond with the written ones.
